Meet Anthony

For over two decades, Anthony Preston and his family have been proud to call Braintree home. While growing up, Anthony sported Braintree blue while playing baseball, hockey, football, basketball, soccer, and wrestling. He also enjoyed taking sailing lessons on Sunset Lake.

During middle and high school, Anthony attended a local service group to volunteer his time abroad, serving many different communities and organizations in places like New Orleans, Costa Rica, and North Carolina.

After high school, Anthony attended Merrimack College where he graduated as a Presidential Scholar in Biology and Chemistry. While at Merrimack, he was elected Student Body President and served as a Resident Advisor. Anthony had the honor to address his graduating class as the 2016 Student Commencement Speaker.

Shortly after graduation, Anthony built on his civic experience by working to support Governor Charlie Baker, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and other candidates across Massachusetts looking to improve their own communities. Today, Anthony works for the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services, supporting the Baker-Polito Administration’s efforts to ensure the Commonwealth’s heroes are fully supported in all aspects of their lives.

Anthony decided to run for Braintree Town Council because he believes in giving back to a community that has given him, his friends, and his family so much. Through serving others, Anthony has learned what it takes to ensure OUR town is always moving in the right direction. Anthony promises to treat each individual with accessibility and urgency, because at the end of the day, a strong local government starts with its constituents.

Together, we can Believe in a Better Braintree!
